Simonne “Moon” Holdsworth is a New Zealand–based writer, artist, and illustrator working across fine art, children’s literature, and narrative storytelling. She creates vivid paintings, character-driven illustrations, and emotionally grounded stories for print and screen.
Moon’s fine art practice spans landscapes, symbolic imagery, and surreal scenes, with upcoming bodies of work in development for exhibitions in New Zealand and Australia. Her illustration work focuses on children’s book characters, visual sequences, archetypal, and digital painting using professional, publication-ready workflows.
As a writer, Moon is multiple short stories. Her stories explore transformation, identity, and the inner life of the human experience, drawing on structured craft, a background in technical problem-solving and somatic work.
A short fictional story written on a domestic flight it explores themes of grief, guilt and creative sacrifice through the lens of a woman who chooses art and independence over attachment.
